8 Habits That Can Reveal More About You Than You Think

Have you ever thought about how much your everyday habits might reveal about you? From the way you carry your bag to your punctuality, these seemingly minor details can offer insights into your personality and behavior. Recent research has uncovered fascinating connections between these habits and our inner traits. As someone who’s curious about human behavior, I’ve found it intriguing to explore how these small actions can provide a glimpse into our personalities. Let’s dive into these eight habits and see what they might say about you.

1. The Way You Usually Wear Your Bag

Image: brightside.me

Ever noticed how people carry their bags and wondered if it means anything? According to a body language expert I came across, the way you carry your bag can speak volumes about your confidence and personality.

  • Elbow Carry: If you typically carry your bag on your elbow with your arm bent, it might indicate that you’re a professional who exudes confidence. This style is often seen among people who want to project an image of elegance and authority.
  • Clutch Hold: Holding your bag under your arm like a clutch suggests you’re laid-back and not overly concerned about your appearance. It’s a casual, relaxed stance.
  • Shoulder Carry: Slinging your bag over your shoulder often means you’re practical and straightforward. You prefer ease and convenience, not hiding anything.
  • Handle Hold: If you tend to carry your bag by the handles, it might reflect some insecurities. This method isn’t the most practical and could suggest you’re trying to maintain a sense of control.

Interestingly, these habits are not one-size-fits-all but can provide clues when they’re consistent.

2. The Way You Store Your Toilet Paper

Image: brightside.me

I came across an interesting study by a life coach and doctor about toilet paper habits. It turns out, how you hang your toilet paper might reveal whether you’re more controlling or relaxed.

  • Over: If you prefer the paper to roll over, you might lean towards a dominant and assertive personality. This method is associated with those who like to be in control.
  • Under: Rolling the paper under could mean you’re more submissive and laid-back. It’s a less dominant approach and might reflect a more easygoing nature.

This quirky habit might not seem important, but it’s a small detail that can offer insight into your broader personality traits.

3. The Way You Take a Selfie

Image: brightside.me

Taking selfies might seem like a fun activity, but it also provides clues about your personality. Researchers have found that different selfie styles can indicate various traits.

  • From Below: If you tend to take selfies from below, you might be a friendlier person. This angle often makes subjects appear more approachable and pleasant.
  • Background Awareness: Conscientious individuals usually take care to avoid showing messy backgrounds. This shows an attention to detail and concern for how they’re perceived.
  • Positive Emotions: People who are open to new experiences often display more pronounced positive emotions in their selfies. Conversely, anxious individuals might resort to making a “duck face.”

It’s fascinating how such a seemingly trivial activity can reveal deeper aspects of our personality!

4. Your Walking Style

Image: brightside.me

Your walking style can be a reflection of your mood and personality. Body language experts have observed that our gait often correlates with our emotional state.

  • Slumped Shoulders: If you walk with your shoulders slumped, it could indicate feelings of sadness or low energy.
  • Bouncy Step: A bouncy walk often signals happiness and enthusiasm. It’s a sign that you’re feeling positive and energetic.
  • Head Tilt: Tilting your head while walking might suggest sensitivity or vulnerability. It can be a sign of introspection or a response to stress.

Understanding your walking style can provide insights into your emotional state and help you become more aware of your mood.

5. Your Handshake

Image: brightside.me

A handshake can say a lot about your personality, as research has shown. It’s one of the first impressions we make and can reveal much about our social behavior.

  • Firm Handshake: A firm handshake often reflects an extroverted and open personality. People with firm handshakes are typically more confident and less shy.
  • Limp Handshake: On the other hand, a limp handshake might indicate a more reserved or anxious nature. It can suggest someone who is less open to new experiences.

Your handshake might be a small gesture, but it plays a significant role in how others perceive you.

6. The Amount of Time You Spend on Your Phone

Image: brightside.me

Our smartphones have become extensions of ourselves, and how we use them can reveal our emotional stability. Studies show that excessive phone use can be linked to higher levels of anxiety and neuroticism.

  • Addiction: If you find yourself constantly checking your phone and feeling anxious when it’s not in sight, it might indicate a lack of emotional stability. People who are highly dependent on their phones often experience higher stress levels.
  • Moderation: Conversely, those who use their phones in moderation are generally more balanced and less anxious.

Being mindful of your phone usage can help manage your stress levels and improve overall well-being.

7. Your Punctuality

Image: brightside.me

Punctuality is more than just a sign of respect; it can reflect your motivation and organizational skills. Research suggests that our habits regarding time can reveal our underlying work ethic.

  • Always On Time: If you’re consistently punctual, it might indicate strong motivation and dedication. It shows that you value structure and responsibility.
  • Frequently Late: Regular lateness, on the other hand, could reflect lower motivation or difficulties with time management. It’s essential to find a balance, as staying late at work can lead to burnout.

Being aware of your punctuality habits can help you better manage your professional and personal life.

8. Your Nervous Ticks

Image: brightside.me

Nervous ticks and habits can be indicative of stress and perfectionist tendencies. Observing these small behaviors can offer insights into how you handle pressure.

  • Perfectionist Tendencies: People who exhibit nervous ticks, such as fidgeting or repetitive actions, often have perfectionist traits. They may show signs of frustration and stress more readily.
  • Stress Management: Recognizing these habits can help you address underlying stress and develop better coping strategies.

Understanding your nervous ticks can lead to improved stress management and greater self-awareness.

Conclusion

Our everyday habits might seem trivial, but they can offer valuable insights into our personalities and behaviors. From how you carry your bag to your punctuality, these small actions provide clues about who you are and how you handle various aspects of life. By becoming more aware of these habits, you can gain a better understanding of yourself and potentially make positive changes.

A Man Taught an Entitled Lady a Lesson: A Lesson in Patience and Creativity

Imagine sitting on a plane after a long, exhausting day, eager to finally relax. That was Carl’s situation—until a series of unfortunate events pushed him to his limit. Here’s how he turned a frustrating experience into a masterclass in patience and creativity.

The Build-Up: A Frustrating Start

Carl had just returned from a grueling business trip to Boston, a journey crucial for hitting quarterly goals. After days of dealing with floods and tight deadlines, he was looking forward to some much-needed relaxation. He had even splurged on a business class ticket to ensure a comfortable flight home.

As he settled into the airport lounge, everything seemed to be going according to plan. The clock ticked down to boarding time, and Carl’s spirits lifted—until the unexpected happened.

The gate agent’s words were a punch to the gut: “Sir, there’s a problem with your seat. The flight is overbooked, and we’ve run out of business class seats. We’ll need to downgrade you to economy.”

Carl’s jaw tightened. He had paid extra for that business class comfort, and now he was stuck in a cramped economy seat. His frustration only grew as he navigated the narrow aisles, battling with an overhead bin that was already full. A cut on his fingers was the cherry on top of his misfortune.

The Trigger: A Kick in the Back

Carl finally took his seat, hoping the worst was behind him. But just as he began to unwind, he felt it—repeated kicks to the back of his seat. Turning around, he saw a young boy of about seven, repeatedly kicking his chair. The boy’s mother, engrossed in a magazine, was oblivious to the commotion.

Carl’s patience wore thin. He politely asked the boy to stop kicking his seat. The mother’s dismissive response—“Kids will be kids. I’m trying to keep him busy”—only fueled his irritation. The situation escalated, drawing the attention of flight attendants who tried to mediate.

Carl faced a dilemma. Should he continue to let the kicks disturb his peace, or should he find a creative way to address the issue? The latter seemed more appealing, especially since he wanted to avoid further confrontation.

Unusual Rules White House Chefs Must Follow

The White House kitchen is known for its high standards and unique rules. Just like many workplaces have peculiar guidelines, so does the White House. For instance, Taco Bell workers in California can’t take discounted food outside during their lunch breaks, and Starbucks baristas in Australia had strict station rules. Similarly, the White House chefs face their own set of unusual regulations. These rules not only ensure security and etiquette but also reflect the complex nature of serving the President and First Family.

At the White House, chefs must navigate a series of specific and sometimes quirky guidelines. From security procedures to special dinner protocols, the rules can be quite elaborate. Imagine a historic institution with such detailed and stringent practices that it feels almost archaic. This is the world where White House chefs work, balancing culinary excellence with high-level security and unique presidential preferences.

All Food Must Be Screened for the President in White House

There has been speculation about whether the President has official food tasters to ensure safety, a claim partly confirmed by fact-checking sources. However, former White House chef Walter Scheib clarified that there are no specific food tasters for the President. Instead, all food served to the President undergoes rigorous screening. Scheib explained that every item, even something as simple as a pretzel, is carefully vetted before reaching the President.

This practice ensures that no food item goes unsupervised, which is crucial given the potential risks involved. It might sound excessive, but it highlights the importance of safety and security in the White House kitchen. For chefs, this means even their smallest personal snacks need to be approved, adding an extra layer of scrutiny to their workday.

The First Lady Appoints White House Executive Chefs

The role of the White House executive chef is both prestigious and demanding. According to Men’s Journal, the executive chef is responsible for daily meals for the President and First Family, as well as catering for official events. However, unlike many top positions, the choice of executive chef is not made by the President. Instead, it is the First Lady who selects and can even dismiss the chef.

This unique responsibility of the First Lady adds an extra dimension to the role. For example, in 2005, Laura Bush fired White House chef Walter Scheib due to dissatisfaction with his style. The First Lady’s authority in hiring and firing the executive chef underscores the close relationship between the chef and the First Family, as well as the high stakes involved in satisfying their culinary preferences.

The Annual White House Gingerbread House

Picture Credit: Consolidated News Pictures/Getty Images

The White House pastry chef has a special tradition: creating an elaborate gingerbread house each year. Susan Morrison, a former executive pastry chef, described how she spends months planning and four days in November building the gingerbread house for the State Dining Room. This annual task is a highlight of the holiday season at the White House, showcasing the pastry chef’s creativity and attention to detail.

This tradition is more than just a holiday decoration; it’s a significant part of White House festivities. The gingerbread house is a symbol of the White House’s festive spirit, and it draws attention from numerous guests throughout the holiday season. Each year, the pastry chef must craft a new, impressive creation, continuing a beloved tradition that adds a touch of sweetness to the White House celebrations.

The President Can Ban Specific Foods

In the White House, the President has the power to ban certain foods from being served. For instance, former President George H. W. Bush famously disliked broccoli and Brussels sprouts, instructing the kitchen staff never to serve them to him. Although he did not ban these vegetables for everyone, his personal preferences could influence the menu significantly.

This level of control might seem unusual, but it reflects the personalized nature of dining in the White House. It’s a bit like having a restaurant where the owner can dictate every detail of the menu based on personal taste. While it’s a privilege for the President to have such input, it also adds a layer of complexity to the chefs’ job, as they must constantly adapt to the President’s preferences.

White House Chefs Are On Call 24/7

White House chefs are expected to be available around the clock. According to former pastry chef Bill Yosses, the chefs are theoretically on call 24/7, ready to respond to any culinary request at any time. However, Yosses noted that during his tenure, late-night cooking requests were rare, and most emergencies did not involve food.

This constant readiness is part of the demanding nature of the job. While the chefs may not often need to prepare meals at odd hours, the expectation to be on standby underscores the importance of their role. The ability to handle unexpected requests, even if rarely exercised, is a testament to the high level of service required in the White House kitchen.

Strict Rules for White House State Dinners

White House state dinners are some of the most formal and meticulously planned events. According to The White House Historical Association, these dinners are held to honor visiting dignitaries and can involve hundreds of guests. The Blade reported that these events come with strict timing rules, such as serving each course within 55 minutes and ensuring no delays.

The detailed rules for state dinners reflect the importance of maintaining high standards and punctuality. Such precise guidelines can make the planning process intense, as every detail must be executed flawlessly to meet the expectations of high-profile guests. This level of detail helps ensure that each state dinner is a grand and memorable occasion.

A Mountain of Hard-Boiled Eggs for the Easter Egg Roll

Every year, the White House hosts an Easter Egg Roll, which involves a surprising number of hard-boiled eggs. For this event, the White House staff prepares and dyes thousands of eggs. In 1998, the kitchen staff dyed 7,200 eggs, and the number can reach over 14,000 in some years.

The scale of this task is remarkable, considering these eggs are primarily for decoration and the traditional egg hunt. The preparation of such a large quantity of eggs highlights the extensive effort that goes into organizing this annual event. It’s a unique challenge that most chefs would never encounter in a typical kitchen setting.

White House Chefs Can Be Asked to Prepare Unusual Meals

Picture Credit: Consolidated News Pictures/Getty Images

White House chefs often have to accommodate unusual food requests from the President. For example, President Richard Nixon was known for his unconventional taste, enjoying cottage cheese topped with ketchup. Former chefs recall that they would prepare such requests, no matter how peculiar.

This aspect of the job demonstrates the flexibility and adaptability required of White House chefs. While preparing unusual dishes might seem odd, it is part of providing personalized service to the President. It’s an example of how White House chefs must be ready to handle even the most unusual culinary demands.

No Overtime Pay for White House Executive Chef

Despite the demanding nature of the job, White House executive chefs do not receive overtime pay. According to The New York Times, the salary for the position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, without additional compensation for extra hours. This compensation is relatively low compared to other top chef positions outside the White House.

The lack of overtime pay highlights a challenging aspect of the role. Even though the job includes significant responsibilities and long hours, executive chefs at the White House do not benefit from the extra pay that might be expected in other high-profile culinary positions. This discrepancy reflects the unique and often demanding nature of working in the White House kitchen.

Brewing Beer in the White House Kitchen

In an unexpected twist, the President can request the White House kitchen staff to brew beer. This unusual task was first introduced by President Barack Obama, who saw it as a way to engage in a popular American tradition. The White House even released a video explaining the brewing process.

While brewing beer is not a typical chef responsibility, it shows the diverse and sometimes surprising requests that White House chefs might handle. This task adds a unique dimension to their job, illustrating how the role can include tasks beyond traditional cooking.

White House Chefs Require High-Level Security Clearance

White House chefs must have a high level of security clearance, known as “Top Secret Presidential Proximity,” to work in the White House. This clearance ensures that the President’s food is prepared safely and securely. Former chef Walter Scheib emphasized the significance of this clearance, highlighting the close proximity chefs have to the President.

The need for such high-level clearance underscores the critical role of security in the White House kitchen. It ensures that chefs are trusted with access to sensitive areas and are part of the tight security measures surrounding the President’s daily life.

White House Chefs Can’t Comment on the Hiring Process

White House chefs are typically not allowed to discuss the process of hiring or promoting staff. For example, when Cristeta Comerford was a candidate for executive chef, she was prohibited from revealing details about the selection process. This confidentiality extends even after chefs are appointed, with limited information shared publicly.

This restriction reflects the highly controlled nature of staffing decisions at the White House. While chefs like Comerford can eventually discuss their roles, the secrecy surrounding the hiring process maintains a level of discretion and formality in the White House kitchen.

Are Redheads Going Extinct? Uncovering the Facts and Myths

Recently, some news outlets have been buzzing with claims that redheads, often called “gingers,” might soon become extinct. Reports suggest that by 2060, redheads could be a rare sight. Is there any truth to these claims? Is the red hair gene really in danger of disappearing?

The idea that redheads are on the brink of extinction is more fiction than fact. The myth likely stems from a misunderstanding involving the Oxford Hair Foundation. This foundation was misinterpreted to suggest that recessive genes like the one for red hair could vanish completely. In reality, recessive genes don’t disappear entirely. They can become less common, but they persist as long as individuals carrying the gene continue to have children.

Pinterest

Interestingly, the Oxford Hair Foundation, which has been cited in these extinction claims, is funded by Procter & Gamble—a major corporation that sells red hair dye. This connection raises questions about the objectivity of the claims about redheads’ future.

Another source of confusion was a 2007 National Geographic article that some reports mistakenly identified as predicting redhead extinction. In truth, the article only included statistics about redheads and did not support the idea of their extinction. National Geographic clarified that while the number of redheads might decrease, the gene itself is not going away. Unfortunately, this clarification didn’t stop the spread of misinformation.

Why Is Red Hair So Uncommon?

shutterstock

Red hair’s rarity is due to a mutation in the MC1R gene. This gene must be inherited from both parents to produce a red-haired child. Because it’s a recessive trait, red hair can skip generations. If both parents carry the red hair gene, it might reappear in their children. Despite its rarity, the gene is not disappearing and will continue to exist as long as there are carriers.

Is There a Risk of Blondes Becoming Extinct?

Adobe Stock

Interestingly, redheads aren’t the only hair color facing similar myths. In the past, similar concerns have been raised about blondes. In 2002, headlines warned that blondes might disappear within 200 years. BBC News cited “German scientists” predicting that blondes would vanish by 2202. Some articles suggested that Finland would be the last place to have natural blondes due to the increasing popularity of dyed blonde hair.

This claim was controversial, with many experts disputing it. Dr. Johnathon Reese from the University of Edinburgh stated that blonde hair would only become extinct if it became an evolutionary disadvantage, which it is not. While the number of natural blondes may decline, they are not disappearing.

Who Started the Rumors About Redheads Disappearing?

herbeauty

Snopes, a site dedicated to debunking myths, found that the story of blonde extinction was false. They pointed to overreported claims and historical inaccuracies, noting that similar stories about blonde extinction have appeared throughout history. For instance, a 1961 article predicted blondes would vanish in 140 years, and a 1906 story suggested they would disappear in 600 years. These predictions were based on flawed “scientific research” and misleading information.

The World Health Organization never conducted a study on blonde extinction, as confirmed by the Washington Post. The original claim came from a German magazine that cited a fictional WHO anthropologist. This error led to widespread misinformation, which many media outlets later had to correct.

Which Vehicle Gets Priority on the Road? The Answer Might Surprise You!

When driving, many of us feel confident about handling various road situations. But even experienced drivers can be surprised by the right-of-way rules. Let’s dive into a few common scenarios to see which vehicle has priority.

Scenario 1: The Intersection Dilemma

Imagine a red car and a green bus approaching an intersection. The bus intends to turn right, while the car plans to go straight. Which vehicle should go first? The answer might surprise you! At this intersection, the bus has priority. Look for the white sign near the traffic light indicating that buses have right of way when turning. So, in this case, the bus moves first.

Don’t worry if you didn’t get it right—understanding these rules takes practice. Each mistake is a learning opportunity that helps you become a better driver.

Scenario 2: T-Intersection Rules

Consider a T-intersection with a red car wanting to turn right, a yellow car approaching from the left also turning right, and a blue car coming from the right going straight. Who has the right of way? The blue car going straight has the priority because it’s on the through road. The yellow car turning right would follow the blue car, while the red car must yield to both.

At T-intersections, the vehicle on the main road (going straight) usually has the right of way. Vehicles turning right generally need to yield to those already moving straight through the intersection.

Scenario 3: Four-Way Intersection Challenge

Picture a four-way intersection with a red car wanting to turn right, a motorcycle going straight, a green truck also going straight, and a white bus planning to go straight. Who has priority here? Typically, the motorcycle has the right of way, followed by the green truck and the white bus, which are on the through road. The red car, turning right, must yield to the oncoming traffic.

Understanding the right-of-way rules at four-way intersections can be tricky. Generally, the vehicle going straight has priority over those turning.

Scenario 4: The T-Intersection with Road Signs

At a T-intersection, a red car is going straight while a blue car wants to turn left. Two road signs are present—each indicating different rules. To resolve this, identify and understand what each sign means. Traffic signs are categorized into four types:

  1. Regulatory Signs: These enforce laws, such as stop signs and speed limits.
  2. Warning Signs: These alert you to potential hazards, like curves or pedestrian crossings.
  3. Guide Signs: These provide directions and navigation help, such as exit signs.
  4. Informational Signs: These offer non-essential information, such as rest area locations.

Recognizing and understanding these signs will help you navigate complex traffic situations more confidently.

This is your driving style according to your zodiac sign! Does your description fit?

Does your driving style match the description?

Some people are awful at parallel parking while others do it flawlessly without a second thought. The fact that some people are simply better at driving a car than others has to do with spatial awareness, patience and control. But that’s not the only thing that is of influence. Your zodiac sign also decides what kind of driver you are.

It’s written in the stars.

Research

Are you driving around like a crazy Cruella de Vil or do you recognise yourself more in clumsy Mr Bean’s driving style? The way you drive is written in the stars. Astrologist Debbie Frank did research in partnership with an insurance company to find out whether your star sign can influence the way you drive. For this research, she interviewed 2000 people about their star sign and their driving style. By studying their answers, she recognised a pattern in the driving styles. Want to know what your driving style is according to your star sign? Keep on reading!

Capricorn (22 December – 19 January)

Capricorns are very careful when they’re driving. You won’t see them getting a speeding ticket anytime soon because they’re sticklers for the rules. A Capricorn places a lot of value on trust and safety. Out of the star signs, Capricorns are the least concerned about the environment and they won’t actively look for a car with low CO2 emissions.

Aquarius (20 January – 19 February)

An Aquarius is easily distracted and that’s exactly why one out of three people with this star sign have to try three or more times before they get their license. The Aquarius likes to have a drink, so they will very rarely be the designated driver at a party. They like to drive around in cars with extravagant colours. More than 10 per cent of people with this star sign has a purple car and seven per cent likes to see themselves driving around in a yellow car. The Aquarius likes to stand out.

Pisces (19 February – 20 March)

Pisces are very serious about hygiene which is why many of them clean their car at least once a month. They are very relaxed drivers and having a nice car is very important to them. That’s why they like to drive a sports car or a different type of flashy car.

Aries (21 March – 19 April)

Aries aren’t known for their self-control in traffic. Research shows that 28 per cent of Aries doesn’t take the other people on the road into account. Aries attach a lot of value to having a nice car. Another fun fact: Aries are most likely to give their cars a nickname. These are also the people who most often forget to lock their cars.

Taurus (20 April – 20 May)

Data provided by the insurance company shows that the Taurus has the biggest chance of getting a fender bender. Why is this? Well, it turns out people with this star sign are very bad at parking – the worst out of all star signs, actually. One in four Taurus drivers admits to having hit something while parking at some point. The Taurus is stubborn and won’t usually choose the easiest road.

Gemini (21 May – 20 June)

Geminis love to drive and they know what they’re doing. No less than 57 per cent of them managed to get their license the first time around. Geminis are reliable drivers and they prefer to sit behind the wheel themselves instead of being driven by someone else. That’s why they always criticise other people’s driving styles, which can cause a lot of frustration when you’ve got a Gemini with you in the passenger seat.

Cancer (21 June – 22 July)

When it comes to parking, Cancers score the highest. They’ve got a lot of confidence when they have to park and they never have any trouble parking anywhere. This mostly has to do with the fact that Cancers are careful.

Leo (23 July – 22 August)

The Leo is competitive, so it’s not that strange that a lot of Leos get their license in one go. Leos are real speed demons as well. If you see a car speeding, there’s a good chance there’s a Leo behind the wheel. They take the speed limits with a grain of salt; 37 per cent of them regularly drive faster than the speed limit.

Virgo (23 August – 22 September)

The Virgo thinks a lot about their ecological footprint. Seventy-two per cent of them says that they would like to own an electric car. Virgos derive a lot of joy from driving; no less than 79 per cent loves to get behind the wheel and go for a drive.

Libra (23 September – 22 October)

Libras might appear calm, but on the inside, they can truly rage in traffic. This is because Libras can’t stand injustice and easily lose their temper because of that. Just like the Virgo, the Libra is concerned with a green driving style.

Scorpio (23 October – 21 November)

Scorpios are careful drivers and rarely have to appeal to their insurance because of that. The Scorpio doesn’t need to drive in the newest or fanciest car but prefers a reliable secondhand car.

Sagittarius (22 November – 21 December)

The most polite driver? That’s the Sagittarius, without a doubt. The Sagittarius is very gracious in traffic and has a very calm and relaxed nature. They keep their head in the game when they’re driving and they rarely forget to lock their cars.

By looking at Maria and Miguel’s sewer home, you’ll realize that they are part of the group who don’t. Because of their addiction, both hadn’t had a job in years. They had no money and no place to sleep, so they spent the night by the side of the street. They met while sleeping in the same area and soon fell in love. Their relationship developed.

Then they made a decision that would change everything.

Addiction

When together, it finally felt like their life had purpose. Things felt like they were about to be so much better than the years before. They decided to get rid of their addiction and enjoy life together. This also meant living together! Unfortunately, the two didn’t have any money to rent a room or buy a house.

They had to get creative!

Where to stay?

It was tough to find a place to live without any money. They couldn’t afford rent or a mortgage, so they had to find another place to sleep. They were used to sleeping by the side of the road, but they now wanted a place of their own. One day, Miguel found a place that might just fit their needs!

The only problem was
 It was a sewer.

The sewer

The sewer Miguel had found was out of use. It was completely dry and looked a bit like a bomb shelter. The “front door” was a sewer cap. The inside wasn’t very large, but it looked like it could house two people if they really wanted to make it work.

Their future had now began. They would turn it into something amazing.

Living in the sewer

The two spent the next 22 years in the sewer. Their love for each other only grew stronger and they managed to overcome their addiction completely. You might think that a sewer would be a nasty place to live, but Miguel and Maria have proven that you can turn anything into a home, as long as you’re willing.

They now finally show what their sewer home looks like.

The sewer home

Here you see a picture of Maria, Miguel and their dog: Blackie. We have to admit: it does look pretty cozy. We can’t wait to see what the inside looks like, because we’re sure it will turn be completely different from the imaginations we have about a sewer home.

Maria and Miguel will show you what the inside of their sewer home looks like. You don’t want to miss this! It’s amazing.

The interior of their sewer home

This couple has turned their sewer into a cozy home, as you can see on the picture above. They don’t lack for anything. They even have electricity, lights, heating and a little kitchen! Although their sewer home isn’t very large, they have divided it into separate areas.

Now take a look how their bedroom looks like!

The bedroom

Here’s a picture of the couple in their bedroom. As you can see, they don’t mind their home being a bit messy. Everything beats sleeping on the street, they say. The two have managed to make good use of the space. They use makeshift shelves to store their clothes.

But this is not all!

Guard dog

Here you can see what the surroundings of the sewer home look like. On the picture you can also see Blackie, their dog. Blackie guards the home when the couple is away and does so very effectively. Can you believe that nobody has ever stolen anything from the sewer home?

The couple has a message to share with the world.

True love

Miguel and Maria have a message to share with the world. This is why they have finally allowed us to take a look inside their sewer home. They want to prove that material possessions aren’t as important as true love. When you love someone, you can make anything work. Even living in a sewer.
