Thai Airways has introduced a pop-up restaurant with an airplane theme at their headquarters in Bangkok. This unique dining spot was created to provide a touch of the flying experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, when travel was restricted. The restaurant allows patrons to enjoy their meals while reminiscing about their airborne adventures.

The restaurant’s design closely resembles an aircraft cabin, featuring the airlineā€™s signature colors of purple, orange, and pink. Itā€™s decorated with repurposed airplane parts, including engine pieces, windows, and fan blades, which serve as furniture. The transformation of the airlineā€™s former office cafeteria into this themed restaurant adds an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.

The menu at the restaurant is designed to mirror what you would find on a Thai Airways flight. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m., offering bakery items, while the main international menu kicks off at 9 a.m. Diners can choose between business and economy class seating. The meals are priced affordably, ranging from $3 to $5, and the staff wear their in-flight uniforms, enhancing the overall experience.

Expanding to More Locations

Currently, the restaurant serves about 2,000 meals daily, helping Thai Airways recoup some of the revenue lost during the pandemic. The airline is considering converting other office spaces into similar dining venues, so you might soon find this unique restaurant concept at an airport near you.
